WCU student killed in motorcycle crash identified as Asheville resident

A Western Carolina University student killed in a motorcycle crash last week has been identified as an Asheville resident. Police said, Nickolas Michael Flynn, a graduate of Erwin High School in Asheville was going between 80-100 mph on a 2022 Yahama motorcycle when he failed to reduce speed and slammed into the back of a car driven by Ryan David Cox, 23, of High Point, last Tuesday [Aug. 23], on N.C. 107, near Fairview Road. There were no indications the 24 year old attempted to brake, according to news release, which notes the investigation is ongoing.
