The Town of Sylva is looking at revising a short-term rental ordinance. The zoning ordinance was updated earlier this year but officials put the issue of short-term rental on the back burner. Now, town commissioners say they are reviewing a list of proposed changes to the current ordinance that will address the demand for this type of rental and traffic and trash concerns residents say is a growing problem. A public hearing on proposed changes to the short-term rental ordinance will take place Aug. 25.
