Sylva man facing charges in connection to car theft ring

A Sylva man is in jail facing numerous charges in connection to a one-man car theft ring and demolition derby. Saith David Cucumber, 27, was arrested stemming from three reported car thefts and two crashes that took place whith just a few minutes at the Catamount Travel Center on U.S. 441 near Cherokee, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. One of the vehicles he stole had two kids in it leading to kidnapping charges. The 27 year old was being held Wednesday in the Jackson County Detention Center on a $172,500 bond.
