The conversation around police reform has cooled down slightly over the last year, but that doesn’t mean law enforcement agencies around the state aren’t quietly implementing new policies. In North Carolina, the most notable changes came as a result of last year’s Senate Bill 300. The bill did several things, from requiring state agencies to investigate deaths that result from a use of force to requiring officers to be fingerprinted to better identify those with a criminal history.
