SWANNANOA, N.C. (WLOS) – Several firefighters responded to the campus of Warren Wilson College, just east of Canton, after lightning struck a tree near an administrative office that then caught fire. Swannanoa Fire officials said the flames spread from the tree to the second floor of the building, which according to campus officials is used for student affairs. There didn’t seem to be extensive damage from Tuesday’s fire, which is being investigated to determine what sparked the blaze, a release states. No one was hurt, according to the release.
