Parents of Jackson County students will be paying more for school lunches when they return this fall. At its most recent meeting, the Jackson County Board of Education voted unanimously to increase the cost of meal prices for the school system, citing two years of free breakfast and lunch during the pandemic, followed by rising grocery costs, for the increase. The cost for the 2022-23 school year will be $3.75 for lunch and $2 for breakfast.
