BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY, N.C. (WLOS) – A new National Park Service report shows that $1.3 billion was spent in regions around the Blue Ridge Parkway in 2021. That spending brought more than $1 billion into local economies throughout North Carolina and Virginia. The parkway saw 15.9 million park visitors who spent the bulk of that $1.3 million on lodging and restaurants. The money also supported close to 18,000 jobs in the regions right near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
