Three people injured when plane crashed near Transylvania County girls camp

TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Three people were injured when a plane crashed near a Transylvania County girls camp. Emergency officials said parents were doing a fly-over and taking photos Thursday night [June 16], when the Cessna 172 plane they were in went down in a wooded area near the Camp on Morgan Mill Road. Camp officials released a statement saying three passengers were quickly rescued and taken to emergency care for what appeared to be “non-life threatening” injuries. The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration were on the scene Friday morning as the investigation is ongoing, according to the statement.
