A community college in North Carolina is going virtual to help staff and students save money. Southwestern Community College, in Sylva announced on the school’s website earlier this month that classes will be held virtually on Fridays with operations shifting online one day a week, noting rising gas prices prompted the cost saving decison. Southwestern Community College said operations would continue online as usual with all staff members still working remotely, though most of the school’s buildings would be closed on Fridays.
