A man currently in jail for kidnapping and assault may soon be charged with murder. Probable cause affidavits related to the case detail multiple kidnappings, as well as murder and the burning of a corpse last month, with Christopher Shields identified as the suspect. The name of the woman believed to be the victim is pending DNA results. Macon County Sheriff Robert Holland said murder charges can’t be brought until those results confirm the deceased identity. Shields is currently being held at the Macon County Detention Center on $750,000 bond.
