WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A greenway connecting Waynesville to Lake Junaluska is taking shape. A 100-foot-long steel footbridge has been put into place and marks the first major step in the project’s completion. A public fundraising campaign and COVID-19 stimulus funds paid for the $440,000 bridge.
The bridge is slated to open by mid-September.
