‘Externship’ program aims to arm local teachers and students with business experience

Cherokee, NC – An “externship” program aims to arm local teachers and students with knowledge about becoming an entreprenuer. Twenty-three 6th-12th grade teachers from Cherokee Central Schools, Graham County, Jackson County, Macon County, and Swain County will work with eight local businesses from Cherokee and Bryson City creating a functional product for all classroom teachers to use. The purpose of the project is to strengthen career connections through STEM experiences and expand career choices within these fields for both students and educators.
