– Duke Energy continues working for social justice

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Duke Energy continues working for social justice and racial equity. Duke announced Tuesday that $25,000 grants will be awarded, in the third year of its $1 million Social Justice and Racial Equity grant program, to eligible nonprofits across the state advocating for racial equity by working to eliminate systemic barriers. All regions of North Carolina served by Duke Energy Progress or Duke Energy Carolinas are eligible. The goal is to ensure that families in communities of color are equipped with the high-tech training required to compete in the digital workplace and ultimately be lifted out of poverty, Duke Energy said in a press release. The grant application period is open now through Aug. 31, 2022.
