Waynesville is cracking down on junk cars

Waynesville is cracking down on junk cars. The passage of new junk car rules by the Waynesville town board last week gave the town authority to have junk cars towed to a storage lot 15 days after giving notice to the owner, and it would then be held for at least 30 days before being disposed of. The ordinance applies to individual junk cars – not mechanic shops or junk yards. Each residence is also allowed one junk car per property, and there’s an exception for antique cars. Junk cars that violate the town ordinance can be towed after 30-days if deemed a health and safety hazard.
