Mission Health is working to address nursing staffing shortages. Mission Health announced Tuesday they will fund a full-time nursing position in partnership with WCU, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and Blue Ridge Community College to help each of the schools serve more students who want to become nurses. The three nursing faculty positions that Mission Health is funding means 10 additional students will be able to enroll in nursing programs at each of the schools each year. That will amount to 30 additional nursing students being accepted each year and 150 additional nursing students over the course of the five-year partnership.
