MACON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – Macon County authorities say they have more questions than answers right now about a missing persons case turned homicide. “It’s a big puzzle,” Macon County Sheriff Robert Holland said, adding so far three people are charged in connection with the death investigation which turned up human remains during a search for a missing woman at an encampment off Mulberry Road.
All three suspects are being held in a Georgia jail awaiting extradition, including two that were still on the run until being taken into custody Wednesday [May 23]. The prime suspect was arrested on May 20, Holland said. The remains have not been identified. Holland said they are continuing to piece together what happened.
