FDA warning North Carolina residents to check their peanut butter

The FDA is warning North Carolina residents to check their peanut butter after an outbreak of Salmonella linked to a popular brand of peanut butter has sickened people in multiple states, including North Carolina. The warning applies to varieties of Jiff Peanut butter produced at the J.M. Smucker Company. The FDA says testing shows the illness matches samples taken from the factory back in 2010. The company has voluntarily recalled Jif brand peanut butter products that have the lot code numbers that end with 425.
