WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – Downtown Waynesville could be getting a makeover. A new committee is working on a five-year master plan for downtown Waynesville that will focus on making Waynesville more inviting, including improvements like landscaping along Main Street and murals, as well as adding events and more signage about the history. The advisory committee is made up of representation from the town, business owners, residents and even a local historian. Assistant Town Manager Jesse Fowler said subjects ranging from economic development to beautification are being considered.
MEANWHILE…
A community forum is planned for 6-8 p.m. May 25 at Wells Events Center, where Fowler said representatives from the North Carolina Commerce Department will be on hand to assist Waynesville in running a certified Main Street program.
