TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – A construction scam in which an elderly Brevard County man was bilked out of thousands of dollars has resulted in prison time for the contractor. The Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office said Travis Galloway took $48,000 for contracting services from a 72-year-old victim and never completed the work. The 36 year old was recently sentenced (Monday) up to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty to elder exploitation charges in Brevard.
