A sequel to the pandemic may be on the horizon

HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) – A sequel to the pandemic may be on the horizon. Haywood County’s health director warned in a social media that COVID-19 cases are once again surging across the mountains and some counties are seeing rates comparable to last fall. In one of his latest videos posted on the Health Department’s Facebook page, he said the state is nearing the “the red zone” for cases, including in Swain Jackson and Buncombe counties. However, death rates from COVID-19 aren’t climbing right now, health officials noted.
