The former deputy chief of the Clyde Volunteer Fire Department appeared in court Tuesday on multiple embezzlement charges. The charges against Dean Castaldo, 52, stem from a years long investigation which found that he and his wife Shani used Clyde Fire Department funds to purchase personal items and payoff debts between 2017, and 2019, according to the indictment. Shani Castaldo isn’t scheduled to appear in court until April 25. Dean Castaldo’s next court appearance is set for May 31.
