WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – An inmate at Haywood County Detention Center has been linked to multiple catalytic converter thefts and is facing dozens of additional felonies. Waynesville PD detectives say Calvin Glen Medford, 35, is charged with 40 felony charges related to 20 catalytic converter theft cases dating back to December 2020. Medford was already in custody for unrelated charges, and with the new charges, he was given an additional $100,000 bond, officers said. Detectives continue working to identify other potential victims as well as others that may have been involved in these incidents.
