Asheville woman fighting for F.A.R.T. ‘vanitylicense plate

March 4 (UPI) — A North Carolina woman is fighting the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles to keep her unusual personalized license plate, which reads “F.A.R.T.” The Asheville resident said she was issued the plate, an acronym for a group she founded titled Friends of Asheville Recreational Trails, or F.A.R.T., but received a letter from DMV last month [Feb. 25] telling her they had recieved complaints about the vanity plate.
She responded to the letter explaining that the plate is a reference to her new group. She said she is now waiting for a response.
