More people are getting back to work in Jackson County. Unemployment rates (not seasonally adjusted) decreased in 97 of North Carolina’s counties in November and increased in three. Jackson County’s rate stood at 3.1 percent, down .2 percent from October of last year and 2.5 percent from November 2020. Some 20,096 were employed in the county and 614 unemployed. The December unemployment update is scheduled to be release Jan. 25.
