Haywood County School teachers getting more money

Teachers and staff members in Haywood County Schools are set to receive pay raises and bonuses thanks to a newly passed state budget. The state budget will provide funding for Haywood County Schools to raise the base salary and provide bonuses for teachers and other school staff like principals, school counselors, bus drivers, maintenance and custodians. Performance bonuses had been suspended during the 2020-21 school year but will be restored for the 22-23 school year. The new budget provides an across-the-board 2.5% increase in fiscal year 21-22 for central office staff, followed by another 2.5% increase in 22-23.
Most bonuses will be paid out in January, while pay raises will be implemented in February (retroactively from July 2021), officials said.
