WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) – A Waynesville golf course is getting a makeover, but nearby residents say it’s not pretty. New owners took over the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa earlier this year and modification of the holes is taking place, which nearby neighbors say has resulted in trees being uprooted and debris piling up, along with two burn pits generating smoke and ash through the neighborhood. Waynesville Fire Marshal Darrell Calhoun says they get complaints almost daily, but added, the project is following all the rules. Calhoun says the burning of the debris piles should wrap up by the end of February.
