Pisgah Bears still looking for home base after ball fields were flooded

The Pisgah Bears are still looking for a home base after ball fields were flooded during heavy rains in August. The impact of the August floods hit football, baseball and softball fields hard in Canton, destroying five fields in all. Other than cleanup, little has been done as the school system goes through the process of receiving funding from insurance and the Federal Emergency Disaster Agency (FEMA). Trevor Putnam, associate superintendent of Haywood County Schools, said the school system submitted documentation before the Dec. 11 FEMA deadline, and now, there is nothing to do except sit back and wait.
