Over $4,000,000 awarded in first round of new SITE Program

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C., – The Golden LEAF Board of Directors awarded over $4,000,000 in funds for the first round of the new SITE Program. The SITE Program supports communities in identifying potential areas for economic development and provides funds to complete studies on sites already identified as prime spots for projects that will help increase economic opportunity in North Carolina by establishing or readying available industrial sites. The need for industrial sites, especially in rural areas, was a gap identified in the strategic planning process, officials said. Golden LEAF will launch a second round of the SITE Program in 2022, board members said.
