MURPHY, N.C. (WSPA) – A disturbance at a Chorokee casino that ended with a drug bust last week remains under investigation. According to the Cherokee Indian Police Department, officers initially responded to a domestic violence incident at the Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino, and when a U-Haul truck arrived to pick up the victim who had been assaulted in the incident, police said they found more than 900 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphenelia, and weapons. The driver, identified as, Daniel Jerry Wiggins, 28, of Tennessee, was arrested. The Cherokee Indian Police Department said additional charges are pending and the case remains active.
