Residents getting help with affordable health care enrollment

Open enrollment for healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act began Nov. 1, and Mountain Projects is helping applicants enroll. Get Covered WNC, a service of Mountain Projects, has Certified Application Counselors available to assist people with completing applications and helping find enrolees a plan that is right for them, ACA coordinators said in a release. The program is free to all and officials say Western North Carolina residents will find more plans available this year, and under the American Rescue Plan Act, advisors say anyone who did not qualify in previous years because they earned too much may qualify this year. Get Covered WNC will also be holding two enrollment clinics at the Jackson County Public Library on Nov. 18 and Dec. 7. To learn more visit getcoveredwnc.org.
