A Cullowhee couple are facing dozens of charges in connection to a theft ring. Tristan Israel Sanchez, 32, and Shira Lynn Littlejohn 32, were arrested after a joint investigation, by the Jackson and Haywood County Sheriff’s Offices and Sylva Police, stemming from what detectives called a ‘short-lived scheme to steal and sell cars,’ between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, which involved chop shop activity in which the stolen vehicles were stripped for parts and scrap metal to sell ror some quick cash. Sanchez posted bail and has since been released. Littlejohn is being held in Jackson County Detention Center on a $51,000 bond. Both also have pending charges in Haywood County.
