BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. – A man linked to a fatal shooting in Asheville has been extradited to Buncombe County to face charges. Buncombe County authorities say Cross Lamar Beaver was taken into custody in Cherokee County Oct. 11 in connection with the September shooting death of Boyce Shane Plemmons, in what police say is the county’s third homicide of 2021. Beaver, one of three charged in the case, is being held in the Buncombe County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 4.
