Students and staff in Jackson County Public Schools will soon have a convenient option for free COVID-19 testing right in their own school. The rapid test will be conducted weekly for individuals who opt-in.
According to Superintendent Dr. Dana Ayers, the testing process is fast and uses a small swab of the lower nose rather than the deep nasal swab used by other tests.

To save time, the district will use a process called “pool testing.” Superintendent Ayers said the testing program will be an important service for families and fit perfectly into the district’s proactive response to the pandemic.

The tests will be completely optional, but Ayers wants all JCPS families to seriously consider having their students participate in the program.
