A Georgia man has been arrested in connection to a bizarre 2020 hit and run involving the death of his friend. Cornelius Money Ellison, 38, is accused of obstructing the investigation into the death of 61-year-old Benjamin Orlandus Miller, who the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says was in a U-haul with Ellison when he was run over after reportedly getting out of the truck on U.S. 23/441 south of Dillsboro. Miller’s death was ruled an accident consistent with trauma from being hit by a vehicle while intoxicated. Ellison is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
