A North Carolina-based hospital system announced Monday that more than 175 of its workers have been fired for refusing to get a COVID-19 vaccination. Last week, Novant Health Systems announced 375 employees had been suspended and given five days to comply with the mandate, but missed the Friday deadline. Novant workers who have gotten their first of a two-dose vaccine, have until Oct. 15 to get the second dose, officials said, before their fate is the same.
