It takes a village. That’s the sentiment of Waynesville where everyone has been lending a helping hand in neighboring communities hit by the devastating floods. Waynesville employees have worked overtime to assist and, equipment operators spent days combing and picking through the mountains of debris that stretch for miles in the flood’s wake in the search for missing people in Cruso. The town has also offered dump trucks and drivers to help with debris and trash removal. Waynesville police officers also pitched in, from manning traffic checkpoints to covering patrol duty.

Employees with Waynesville’s recreation department assisted clean up debris at Canton’s recreation facilities, and is standing by to help repair water and sewer lines or even IT assistance if needed.
